Attached, I hope, is a picture of my wife and I in our '65
convertible on the Indy 500 track. We were there for the VTCI's
international convention in 1999 and were fortunate enough to "take a
lap". This picture is the wallpaper on my computer and one of my
favorites.
I purchased the car in 1989 from a streetrodder who had done a
few modifications and came to the conclusion that no matter what he did to it,
it would still be a Ford. I've replaced the entire interior
(including the dash), the motor, the top, the top switches and had the
transmission rebuilt (twice). It still needs front floor pans, a gas
tank and rechroming. It's not a show car but we enjoy it a lot.
In 1998, we drove this car to the Reno convention, returning
(to Minnesota) via 2 lane roads through the mountains. Wonderful trip.
It's a great runner, we add about 3,000 to 4,000 miles per year, and we get
great comments wherever we go.
We also own a Special Landau (84,000 actual miles) and a
hardtop that I originally purchased as a parts car but I may restore
"someday". Good luck with the site
